Coach Tai
Coach Tai's passion for dance began at just 15 months old. She started her dance journey at the Tyie Thomas Center of Preforming Arts by Tracey Thomas. Technically, she was not old enough to dance yet, but that didn't stop her. This was just the beginning. She developed a desire to learn and an ear for music. She has been dedicated to studying all things dance since then. As a child, she knew she wanted to be a professional dancer. She spent her childhood taking classes at local dance studios, researching industry dancers and choreographers, and teaching what she knew to anyone who would participate. At jus 10 years old her work was performed at numerous church services and local community events. She was awarded "Springfield Idol" in 2010 after winning 1st place at a local talent competition with her choreography. At 13 years old, she enrolled in summer dance classes at Stadium of Dance by Kamari Schoolfield immediately inspired by Coach Kamari's work and work ethic. She knew Stadium of Dance was the next best thing for her. She joined the competition team and began assisting classes to help her mom with dance tuition. Stadium of Dance was the rebirth of Coach Tai's dance journey. This is where she developed her love for modern and contemporary dance but also found a new love for hip hop. Her dance journey continued through college. As a business management major at Dean College, she found a way to fill her schedule with physical and lecture dance classes. Which later, led to her admission into the Joan Philps Palladino School of Dance. She was a member of the Pom Team. A member and choreographer for the Step Team, Hip Hop Team and My Black Speaks Dance Team which she served as president in her senior year. Along the way, she got the chance to study at Debbie Allen's Dance Academy under the instruction of Karen McDonald.
Currently, Coach Tai holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and associate's degrees in business and dance from Dean College. She works with middle school and high school student as a Dance Enrichment Teacher in MA. She dances and performs with artists in MA, CT, NY and LA.
